Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13th August launched a faceless assessment and taxpayers charter as part of transparent taxation. The government on 25th September operationalises faceless income tax appeals which seek to honour the honest taxpayer of the country and promote transparency. Under this system all income tax appeal will be finalized in a faceless manner where either taxpayer or his counsel will not came into contact of income tax Department. They can submit their tax from the comfort of their home. But there are some exceptions to this rule cases of serious fraud, major tax evasion comes under it.
This is one of the reforms which is being followed by income tax Department in recent years the faceless assessment will include but not limited to location of appeal, E communication of notice/questionary, E verification/ E inquiry to hearing an finally E communication to the appeal. There are approximately more than five lacs cases are pending. an artificial intelligence system will distribute cases through data analysis under the jurisdiction there will be a document identification number assigned to every case as a part of dynamic jurisdiction. The draft appeal order will be prepared in one city and will be reviewed in some other city.
